formed in the bleak december of 2003. the concept: rock music that knows no boundaries. the project's only member, gavin reign, has drawn upon the influences of NINE INCH NAILS, MARILYN MANSON, TOM WAITS, ALICE IN CHAINS, SOUNDGARDEN, FUEL, THE FAINT and VAST to create an amalgam of sounds that would paint the picture that was his past, and also attempt to capture the quintessence of his present through bemoaning verses and wrathful choruses...all while using guitars, drums, synths, clarinets, loops, and the wrecking-ball that is his voice. in 2006, he released "ladies & gentlemen...," steeped in revamped [and re-recorded] songs from the TRIP MINE BABY and PETALBOMB era [such as "rain falls" "muscle boy"] and new revelations [such as ".pulse." and "demons & harleys"], which had spawned out of the disgust of attempting to find a new band and new sound that all ended up sounding alike. the new upcoming release "7v7," has a planned release date of late 2009. not unlike it's predecessor, it will be an attempt at furthering the idea that rock music should be boundary free. it will also be ZIPPERGRIN's first attempt at a concept album; battling the seven deadly sins and the seven heavenly virtues musically...which will win? who knows... while the rest of the world sleeps, the ZIPPERGRIN project marches forward in an endless barrage of prolificacy. so, don't blink...or you'll miss the carnage.
